El Riad Shrine Mosque Sioux Falls
The annual Irish Music Night once
again features one of the hottest groups on tour in the country, Dervish.
Following the tradition of acts brought to Sioux Falls such as Scartaglen,
Ossian and Altan comes this 6 piece band that will put on quite a party.
The Dervish sound is formed around a core of fiddle, flute
and accordion. In Shane McAleer, Liam Kelly and Shane Mitchell, Dervish
has three of the finest players of these instruments in Ireland. These
lead instruments are accompanied by the strident mandola and bouzouki playing
of Brian McDonagh and Michael Homes.
Joining the guys is Cathy Jordan whose evocative voice
has quickly become one of the most talked about in a country which has
produced the likes of Sinead O'Conner, Bono and Van Morrison.
