An award winning bluegrass band from Wisconsin that features the wonderful harmonies of the husband and wife team of Art and Stephanie Stevenson, the hard-driving banjo and dobro sounds of Dale Reichert, and the hot fiddle playing of Len Springer.

Celebrating its twelfth year, Harmonious Wail has established itself as a forerunner of an enticing style of acoustic swing fusion. Blending the melodious sounds of the great jazz vocalists with the energy of Gypsy swing and the contemporary adventurousness of new acoustic music, the Wail has traveled throughout the States and Europe delivering pure joy and infectious grooves.
Friday, August 4th Bill Peterson and Friends
Fiddle player and one of the founders of
the Folk Festival, Bill Peterson, will be joined by some of his very talented
musical friends for an exciting evening of Celtic and Scandinavian music
to kick off the Sioux River Folk Festival.
21st Annual Sioux River Folk Festival Saturday & Sunday - Aug. 5th & 6th They stole the show 2 years ago and they're coming back this year - Nickel Creek, featuring the incredible mandolin playing of Chris Thile, Sara Watkins on fiddle and vocals, Sean Watkins on guitar and Chris' dad Scott Thile on bass. Aisc appearing will be a great old time stringband from North Carolina, the Freight Hoppers, North Dakota's finest songwriter and area favorite, Chuck Suchy and two of the Twin Cities' finest acoustic musicians, Peter OstrouShko and Dean Mcgraw.
Saturday, August 19 Dave Moore
Dave has been called one of America's finest songwriters. A regular guest on Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion", he was also the show's house bandleader for several road shows. Besides being a very gifted songwriter, Dave is also very accomplished on guitar, harmonica and the accordion. Touring regularly throughout the U.S. and Canada, Dave makes his home in Iowa City, Iowa.
All concerts will be held at the Stage
Area in Newton Hills State Park.
